		Located in the Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh, Kadapa(latitude 14 degrees 28 minutes North and longitude 78 degrees 48 minutes East) is one of the twenty-six districts of Andhra Pradesh. However, after the death of former CM of the undivided Andhra Pradesh Yeduguri Sandinti Rajasekhara Reddy, he is the father of prominent politician YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Kadapa was officially renamed as YSR District. Notably, YSR was elected as an MP from Kadapa and the district is his birthplace as well.</div>

		<strong>Demographic profile</strong></div>

		As per the 2011 Census, the Kadapa parliament seat has approximately 252,510 SC voters, making up around 16.1 per cent of the electorate, and 31,368 ST voters, constituting about 2 per cent. Rural voters number approximately 919,075, which is about 58.6 per cent of the electorate, while urban voters are approximately 649,313, or around 41.4 per cent.</div>

	According to the Election Commission of India (ECI), In the 2024 Lok Sabha election of Kadapa seat, 1,321,975 people voted. In terms of Assembly elections, 190,527 people voted. For the 2019 Assembly Election, the total number of voters at the Kadapa parliament seat was 1,568,388, with 1,919 polling booths. The voter turnout for the 2019 Parliament Election was 77.7 per cent, and for the 2019 Assembly Election, it was 77.6 per cent.&nbsp;&nbsp;</div>

	<strong>Political History</strong></div>

	The Kadapa Lok Sabha seat is a family citadel of the Reddy family as only a family member has won the elections from here since 1989. Interestingly, since 1952, only a member of the Reddy community has won from Kadapa LS seat.</div>

	Historically, Congress has been the most successful party from here as it has won 10 times while YSRCP has won thrice. The CPI has won it four times while the state&#39;s main Opposition party TDP has won only once.</div>

	In 2019, YSRCP&#39;s Avinash Reddy won by a margin of over 380,000 votes against TDP&#39;s Adinarayana Reddy. Avinash also won in 2014 but this time by a margin of little less than 200,000 votes.</div>

	In the 2024 Assembly Elections, Madhavi Reddappa Gari won the Assembly polls from the Kadapa constituency, she is a representative of Telugu Desam (TDP), her party won 135 seats out of the 175 constituencies in Assembly elections, which were held on 13 May. With 21 sesats, JnP won the second most highest seats in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly polls. Amzath Basha Shaik Bepari, who represented Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party(YSRCP), received the second highest votes in the Assembly polls.</div>

	Y S Avinash Reddy emerged as the winner of 2024 Lok Sabha elections from Kadapa constituency with 45.78 per cent of votes, he represents YSRCP.&nbsp; While TDP candidate Chadipiralla Bhupesh Subbarami Reddy trailed the winner with 542,448 votes and 41.03 per cent of votes.</div>
