Who is Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani?

Born in 1976, Telugu Desam Party leader Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani is currently serving as MoS for Rural Development and Communications in the NDA-led central government. Pemmasani is also an MP from Guntur Lok Sabha seat in Andhra Pradesh.
Personal Life
Pemmasani comes from Guntur district and is a well qualified individual. He studied medicine from Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad. The TDP MP later went to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania for his post-graduation. After that, Pemmasani worked for some years in the US before returning to India. He is also the founder of a firm named UWorld, which provides services to students in preparation for various types of exams. Apart from that, he is also involved in various charity works as well.

Political Career
The Guntur MP's family has been associated with the TDP for decades as his father was involved with the outfit. During his stay in the US, Pemmasani used to take part in organising events for Andhra CM Chandrababu Naidu during the latter's visit to the country. Pemmasani has risen in politics from municipality level.
After failing to secure a ticket in the 2014 and 2019 Parliamentary elections, Pemmasani finally made his LS debut in 2024 after veteran TDP leader and the then incumbent Guntur MP, Gall Jayadev, decided to take a break from active politics. The medical graduate won by a margin of over 3 lakh votes and defeated YSRCP candidate Kilari Venkata Rosaiah.
