Tata Electronics, a Tata Group firm focused on manufacturing precision components, has said it is planning to add significant numbers to its existing about 8,000-strong workforce over the next few weeks. According to sources, the addition will be around 10-15 per cent of its existing workforce.

The employees will be directly or indirectly employed by the company, and will be based in Krishnagiri district, where the Tata Group is in coming up with an iPhone assembly in a joint venture with Wistron. The company is focused on having upwards of 80 per cent of its workforce from Tamil Nadu itself.
