Gaming in India is expected to grow by 20-30 per cent and add 100,000 jobs in Financial Year (FY) 2023, said a report about the "next sunrise sector".

The sector employs 50,000 people, of which 30 per cent are programmers and developers. It has grown from being worth Rs 7,037 crore in FY 2019 to Rs 14,300 crore in FY 2022. The sector is projected to be worth Rs 38,097 crore in FY 2026 and grow five-fold in the next seven years, according to TeamLease Digital’s 'Gaming- Tomorrow’s Blockbuster' report.
