IT stocks extend gain; Persistent Systems, Coforge rise up to 16% in a week

Since January 6, the IT index rallied 9 per cent, as compared to 1.6 per cent rise in the Nifty50

Shares of information technology (IT) companies were in focus as Nifty IT index rallied over 1 per cent for the second straight day after technology companies reported in-line or better-than-expected earnings for the quarter ended December (Q3FY23). At 01:12 pm; Nifty IT, the top gainer among sectoral indices, was up 1.2 per cent, as compared to 0.06 per cent rise in the Nifty50 index. On Monday, the IT index gained nearly 2 per cent on the National Stock Exchange (NSE).
