UltraTech Cement's consolidated sales rose 15.54 per cent to 26.69 million tonne (MT) year-on-year in the second quarter ended September 30, 2023.
The company produced 23.10 MT cement in July-September period a year ago, the Aditya Birla Group firm said in a sales volume data filed on bourses.
Total sales volume in the domestic market was up 15.37 per cent to 25.66 MT during the quarter under review. It was 22.24 MT in Q2/FY23.
Its grey cement production in the domestic market was at 25.24 MT in September quarter FY24, reporting 15.46 per cent growth, while its white cement production was 0.42 MT, up 10.52 per cent.
UltraTech's overseas production, mainly grey cement was 1.18 MT in Q2/FY24, up 21.64 per cent.
The company has a consolidated capacity of 137.85 million tonne per annum (MTPA) of grey cement. It has 23 integrated manufacturing units, 29 grinding units, one clinkerisation unit and eight Bulk Packaging Terminals.

An Air India flight from Kochi to Gatwick was on Sunday cancelled following a technical fault in the aircraft that was noticed just minutes before it was set to take off, an airline source said.
The AI 149 flight, which was scheduled to take off with 252 passengers on board at 2.15 pm, returned from the taxiway at 2.30 pm and everyone was deboarded as the aircraft was checked for the cause of the technical fault, the airline source said.
As the aircraft was not found fit to undertake the flight today, it was cancelled and those not wishing to reschedule their trip or avail of seats in other airlines were issued a full refund and an appropriate monetary compensation, the source said.
"We are trying to accommodate passengers (those who do not want to cancel their tickets) on other airlines and have arranged hotel accommodations for them as well as those who are unable to return to their homes today," the source said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday congratulated Asian Games medallists, praising the performance of "phenomenal" Tajinderpal Singh Toor and "unstoppable" Avinash Sable in shot put and steeplechase events respectively.

The Afghanistan Embassy here announced Saturday night that it is ceasing its operations from October 1, citing a "lack of support from the host government", failure to meet expectations in serving Afghanistan's interests, and reduction in personnel and resources.
In a statement, the Afghanistan Embassy in New Delhi said it regrets announcing the decision to cease its operations, effective October 1, 2023.
"It is with profound sadness, regret, and disappointment that the Embassy of Afghanistan in New Delhi announces this decision to cease its operations," the statement said.
The embassy said that this decision, while deeply regrettable, was made after careful consideration, taking into account the historic ties and long-standing partnership between Afghanistan and India.
The embassy statement also listed key factors affecting its ability to continue the mission effectively and said that they were the primary reasons for the "unfortunate closure".

The Indian Railways utilised 59 per cent of its total capital expenditure in the first six months of the financial year 2023-24, Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said on Saturday.
This was made possible as the railways carried out 38 structural and procedural reforms in these six months, which helped improve its overall performance, he told reporters.
"Our total budget for 2023-24 is Rs 2.4 lakh crore, out of which we have already spent Rs 1.4 lakh crore in the first half of the current financial year. This is 59 per cent of the total budget," Vaishnaw said.
On the structural reforms carried out by the railways, he said the whole system of project execution, its finance and monitoring process have been revamped to bring in transparency and quality control.
The Item Rate Contract system has been changed to Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contracts, which is better and more accountable, he added.

The Delhi government has begun preparing the budget estimate for the 2024-25 fiscal and the revised estimate for 2023-24 and directed all departments to furnish realistic targets.
In a circular to all the departments on September 25, the Finance Department said that the departments should send the estimates by October 13 in prescribed format.
"The Finance Department has initiated the process of preparation of the Revised Estimates (RE) for 2023-24 and Budget Estimates (BE) for 2024-25," read the circular. It also said meetings regarding budget estimates and revised estimates will start from the last week of October.
"Revised Estimates/Budget Estimates should be formulated taking a realistic assessment of the requirement of funds which can be utilized by the department during the financial year," it said while highlighting some of the discrepancies which have continued to occur in framing of Budget Estimates by the departments.
