Honda Cars India Ltd on Sunday reported a 13 per cent increase year-on-year in domestic sales at 9,861 units in September 2023.
Newly launched mid-size SUV Elevate received good response in the market and the deliveries of the model started from last month, Honda Cars India said in a statement.
"The new SUV has emerged as a frontrunner and is contributing significantly to the sales momentum during this festive season," Honda Cars India Ltd Director, Marketing and Sales, Yuichi Murata said.
He further said, "The auto industry is experiencing strong demand at the beginning of the festive season. With an extended festive period this year, we expect this momentum to continue, which is very encouraging."
Exports last month stood at 1,310 units, the company said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday pitched for blending fitness and well-being with cleanliness as he led a nationwide 'Swachhata hi Seva' campaign that saw thousands participate in an hour-long "shramdaan" across the country.
Wielding a broom, the prime minister took part in the drive along with fitness influencer Ankit Baiyanpuriya.

Passenger vehicle wholesales in India rose to record levels in September as automakers dispatched stocks to dealers in order to cater to the robust demand in the ongoing festive season.
The industry dispatches stood at 3,63,733 units last month, the best ever in a month.
The previous best was reported in August 2023 with dispatches of 3,60,700 units.
"This is the highest ever September of course, in any year in the Indian passenger vehicle history. It is also the highest ever in any month so far," Maruti Suzuki India Senior Executive Officer (Marketing and Sales) Shashank Srivastava told reporters in a virtual press meet.
He noted that dispatches rose in September as the dealers prepared for the festive season which kicks in a big way from October 14.
Last month also witnessed robust demand in western and southern states due to various festivals which see increase in car sales, Srivastava said.

Bharti Airtel on Saturday announced it has garnered over 50 million 5G customers on its network - a feat achieved within one year of the launch of Airtel 5G Plus.
The Sunil Mittal-led telecom company also said Airtel 5G Plus services are available across all districts in the country.
"Airtel continues its 5G growth streak with 50 million unique customers on its network," the company said.
Making it one of the fastest rollouts in the country, Airtel 5G Plus is available across all the 28 states and 8 union territories.

The Afghanistan Embassy here announced Saturday night that it is ceasing its operations from October 1, citing a "lack of support from the host government", failure to meet expectations in serving Afghanistan's interests, and reduction in personnel and resources.

The Indian Railways utilised 59 per cent of its total capital expenditure in the first six months of the financial year 2023-24, Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said on Saturday.
This was made possible as the railways carried out 38 structural and procedural reforms in these six months, which helped improve its overall performance, he told reporters.
"Our total budget for 2023-24 is Rs 2.4 lakh crore, out of which we have already spent Rs 1.4 lakh crore in the first half of the current financial year. This is 59 per cent of the total budget," Vaishnaw said.
On the structural reforms carried out by the railways, he said the whole system of project execution, its finance and monitoring process have been revamped to bring in transparency and quality control.
The Item Rate Contract system has been changed to Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contracts, which is better and more accountable, he added.

Last week, the BSE benchmark fell 180.74 points or 0.27 per cent, and the Nifty declined 35.95 points or 0.18 per cent.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has referred MPs' complaints on the issue involving BJP member Ramesh Bidhuri's use of objectionable words against BSP's Danish Ali to the Privileges Committee, sources said on Thursday.
While Ali and several other opposition MPs, including Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury and DMK's Kanimozhi, demanded action against Bidhuri, several BJP parliamentarians like Nishikant Dubey said the BSP member "incited" the South Delhi MP when he speaking in the House and urged the Speaker to look into this aspect as well.
Sources said the Chair has sent all these complaints to the Privileges Committee headed by BJP MP Sunil Kumar Singh.

Co-working spaces firm EFC India on Thursday said it is exploring various options, including Follow-on Public Offer (FPO), to raise funds for expanding its capacity to 60,000 seats by the end of this fiscal.
The company said in a statement that it has recently signed around 5 lakh square feet of office spaces in Pune, Noida, Hyderabad, and Kolkata.
"We intend to expand the number of seats from the present 25,000-plus to nearly 60,000 by the end of this financial year. We are exploring various options, including FPOs, to raise the necessary funds for these expansions. However, I cannot comment on how much money will be raised at the moment," Umeash Sahhaaii, founder & CEO of EFC Ltd, said.
The company has recently concluded a fundraising round of Rs 90 crore through the preferential issue for future expansion.
