Mohammed Siraj's best-ever bowling performance of 6/21 guided India to their eighth Asia Cup title as they beat Sri Lanka by 10 wickets on Sunday, September 17, 2023, at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. This was the biggest win by a margin of balls remaining for India as they chased down 51 in only 6.1 overs, meaning that 263 balls remained in the Indian innings to be bowled. The previous record was 231 balls achieved against Kenya in Nairobi.

Earlier, Sri Lanka were bowled out for their second-lowest ODI total of 50 runs. There was no resistance at all from the Sri Lankans as Kusal Mendis top-scored with 27 off 34 balls. Apart from Siraj, Hardik Pandya took three wickets while Jasprit Bumrah took one. Dasun Shanaka won the toss and elected to bat first against India today.
