Rinku Singh denied a double on the third ball of the final over. It is irrelevant now to say that maybe he would have not hit a six or a four like the way he did. But the main thing is the chase demands doubles to be taken if the right batter is at the crease after those two runs. It reduces the target and keeps the main man on strike. But Rinku declined that and in the end, it went on to be the most crucial part of the innings.

However, that should not take away the fact that Rinku played brilliant innings, scoring 66 off 33 balls with six fours and four sixes to his name. Even after hitting 19 runs in the last over, they lost by one run. Lucknow qualified for playoffs after this win.

KKR vs LSG Toss, IPL 2023

The toss between Kolkata Knight Riders captain Nitish Rana and his Lucknow Super Giants counterpart Krunal Pandya was won by the former who decided to bowl first at the Eden Gardens.
