Delhi minister Atishi Marlena speaking at AAP press conference over Swati Maliwal case

CM Arvind Kejriwal's aide Bibhav Kumar has given complaint to police against Swati Maliwal, said AAP leader Atishi Marlena at a press conference on Friday where she attacked fellow party leader Swati Maliwal.

The Enforcement Directorate on Friday named the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) as a co-accused in its chargesheet in the money laundering case linked to the Delhi excise policy case.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today hit out at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for not speaking on the issue of alleged assault on his party MP Swati Maliwal, and said he is instead "shamelessly" moving around with accused Bibhav Kumar.

At an event organised by an industry body on Friday, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman emphasised that the fundamental basis for consistent, steady and high growth in India is policy stability.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that he sent an envoy to Israel to ask their government to stop bombing in Gaza during the holy month of Ramzan. In an interview to India Today TV,  PM Modi elaborated on his efforts to get Israel to stop bombing in Gaza during Ramzan. "It was the month of Ramzan. So I sent my special envoy to Israel and asked him to convey and explain to the Prime Minister (Benjamin Netanyahu) that at least do not carry out bombings in Gaza during Ramzan. They (Israel) made every effort to follow it but in the end, there was a fight for two-three days," PM Modi said. "Here, you keep on cornering me on the Muslims issue but, I didn't publicise it," he added.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Swati Maliwal has submitted a statement to Delhi Police against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's aide Bibhav Kumar on Thursday, accusing him of physically assaulting her. On basis of the complaint, a case has been filed against Bibhav Kumar.  On Thursday evening, a two-member police team - led by Assistant Commissioner of Police PS Kushwaha - met Maliwal, at her home to register a statement. The meeting lasted for four hours, news agency PTI reported. In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Maliwal said, "What happened to me was very bad… The last few days have been very difficult for me".

In an interview with Hindustan Times, External Affairs minister S Jaishankar asserted that the Modi government’s “experienced, sober, practical, grounded but courageous” leadership in foreign policy matters is now part of his pitch to voters.  Jaishankar urged voters to "strengthen Narendra Modi’s hands because he is actually the guy who’s going to see you through the storm.”

Google wants judge, not jury, to decide upcoming antitrust case in Virginia

Google on Thursday asked that a judge, rather than a jury, decide whether it violated U.S. antitrust laws by building a monopoly on the technology that powers online advertising. To bolster its case, the tech giant wrote a multimillion-dollar check to the U.S. government that it says renders moot the government's best argument for demanding a jury trial. The antitrust case set to go before a jury in Alexandria, Virginia, in September is one of two major lawsuits the Justice Department has brought against Google. While the Virginia case focuses on advertising technology, an ongoing case in the District of Columbia focuses on Google's dominance as a search engine.

Wrong CUET-UG question paper distributed at Kanpur centre, exam rescheduled to May 29: NTA

The National Testing Agency said on Friday that the CUET-UG exam at a centre in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur where the wrong question paper was distributed will be conducted on May 29. The agency also denied reports of the question paper being leak at the centre. "The exam will be conducted on May 29 for over 220 students at an exam centre at Maharana Pratap Group of Colleges in Kanpur. This decision was taken after a wrong question paper was distributed on May 15," a senior National Testing Agency (NTA) official said. "There was no paper leak, the invigilators mistakenly distributed English medium question papers to Hindi medium students," the official added. The NTA will also conduct the CUET-UG exam for Delhi centres on May 29 as the May 15 exam was postponed a night before, citing unavoidable reasons. A similar incident occurred while conducting the NEET-UG exam on May 5 during which Hindi medium students at one centre in Rajasthan's Sawai Madhopur were handed English medium question papers. Their exam was later conducted on the same day. The NTA had also refuted reports of a paper leak in the exam.
