Godrej Group's internal restructuring gets Competition Commission's nod

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) on Tuesday said it has approved the proposed internal realignment within the Godrej group. "The proposed combination relates to realignment of interests, legal ownership, and management of various entities within the Godrej group pursuant to an inter-se arrangement between the members of the Family Branches viz Adi Godrej and family (ABG Family), Nadir Godrej and family (NBG Family), Jamshyd Godrej and family (JNG Family) and Smita Crishna and family (SVC Family)," CCI said in a release. Such realignment will take place under the Family Settlement Agreement (FSA) dated April 30, 2024, executed by the family branches, it added. Under the terms of the FSA, the realignment will encompass entities like the GILAC Group Entities and G&B group entities, marking a strategic effort to streamline operations and consolidate governance structures within the conglomerate. G&B-Godrej Properties partnership to continue for Vikhroli land development

Godrej & Boyce and Godrej Properties on Wednesday said they would continue their association for land development at Vikhroli in Mumbai, a day after the founding family of the Godrej group announced an amicable split of the conglomerate. In a joint statement, Godrej & Boyce, owner-developer, and Godrej Properties, the development manager, said the two companies will continue their Memorandums of Understanding executed from time to time, for development of land in Vikhroli as and when the owner is desirous of developing the land. Godrej Locks eyes 50% market share, bets big on new cheaper products

Locks and security solutions company Godrej Locks has said it aims to increase market share from 30 per cent to 50 per cent in three years, riding on a new range of affordable products and reduced prices of existing ones. Shyam Motwani, business head for Godrej Locks and architectural and systems, said the company's newly-launched products are over 50 per cent affordable than the existing locks, while efforts have been undertaken to make the existing locks cheaper by 7-8 per cent. The company will rely on new affordable range and price cuts in the existing locks to achieve the objective of having the dominant market share in around three years, Motwani told PTI. Godrej Locks and Architectural Fittings and Systems (GLAFS) is aiming to achieve 2-fold growth over the next three years, as it is betting big on digital locks, a segment showing promising trends in both residential and commercial spaces, a senior company official said. Business leader Nadir Godrej on Sunday said manufacturing, healthcare and other sectors in India can scale newer heights with the right use of artificial intelligence. Here to attend the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting, Godrej also said India can achieve its net-zero goals ahead of the deadline as the country is moving in the right direction on climate related matters. Speaking to PTI, he said AI has great potential to help various sectors by optimising processes and it should be seen as a facilitator rather than a disruptor. Godrej is chairman and managing director of business conglomerate Godrej Industries.
