SJVN's 900 MW project in Nepal to start power generation from 2025: CMD

SJVN expects its under-construction 900 MW Arun-3 hydro-electric project in Nepal to start power generation from next year as nearly three-fourths of work has been completed, its chairman and managing director Sushil Sharma said on Tuesday. Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal triggered the last blast to mark the completion of heading excavation 11.8 km long head race tunnel of 900 MW Arun- 3 Hydro Electric Project in Sankhuwasabha district of Nepal, SJVN said in a statement. SJVN is constructing the multi-crore Arun 3 Hydro Electric Project in Nepal. More than 74 per cent of the project works have already been completed and the remaining works are going on in full swing. The project will start generation by next year and has the potential to generate 3924 million units of electricity every year, Sharma said in the statement.

SJVN Q4 results: Consolidated net profit jump two-fold to Rs 61.08 crore

State-owned SJVN has reported over two-fold jump in consolidated profit to Rs 61.08 crore during the March quarter, on account of exceptional gains. The company reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 17.21 crore in the year-ago period, a BSE filing showed. The financial results of the company showed an exception gains of Rs 103.84 crore during the quarter. However, total income of the company dipped to Rs 573.23 crore in the quarter from Rs 582.78 crore in the same period a year ago. The consolidated net profit of the company in 2023-24 was at Rs 911.44 crore from Rs 1,359.30 crore in year ago. Total income in the fiscal also increased to Rs 2,876.96 crore from Rs 3,282.50 crore in 2022-23. The board of directors also approved a final dividend of Rs 0.65 per equity share for the 2023-24 fiscal year, subject to the approval of shareholders in the ensuing annual general meeting. India's first multi-purpose green hydrogen pilot project inaugurated

India's first multi-purpose green hydrogen pilot project at 1,500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station (NJHPS) in Himachal's Jhakri was inaugurated on Wednesday, according to Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN) officials. SJVN Chairman and Managing Director Geeta Kapur inaugurated a 20Nm3/hr electrolyzer and 25kW fuel cell capacity-based green hydrogen pilot project, a statement issued here said. The project is the nation's first multi-purpose (combined heat and power) green hydrogen generation plant with the capability to cater to the high-velocity oxygen fuel (HVOF) coating facility of NJHPS to meet its combustion fuel requirements, in addition to generating electricity through its 25kW capacity fuel cell. It will produce hydrogen gas by splitting hydrogen and oxygen from water with the help of an alkaline electrolyzer of 20Nm3/hr capacity by utilising renewable energy supplied from the 1.31 MW solar power plant of SJVN located in Wadhal, Himachal Pradesh. SJVN Green signs long-term pact to supply 600 MW solar power to Rajasthan

A subsidiary of state-owned power producer SJVN, SJVN Green Energy, has entered into a long term pact to supply 600 MW solar electricity to Rajasthan. The Power Usage Agreement is for 500 MW Solar Power from Bikaner Solar Power Project and the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) is for 100 MW Solar Power from Rajasthan Solar Power Project, both for a period of 25 years, a power ministry statement said. According to the statement SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL), a wholly owned subsidiary of SJVN, has signed a Long Term Power Usage Agreement (PUA) for 500 MW Solar Power and a Long Term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for 100 MW Solar Power, with Rajasthan Urja Vikas and IT Services Limited (RUVITL) in Jaipur on March 10, 2024. SJVN receives 1,352 MW solar energy projects worth Rs 7,436 crore

State-owned power producer SJVN arm SJVN Green Energy has secured 1,352 MW solar power projects, entailing an investment of Rs 7,436 crore. "SJVN has received Letter of Awards (LoA) for 1,352 MW Solar Power Projects to be developed through SJVN Green Energy Ltd (SGEL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of SJVN," a company statement said. According to the statement, these LoAs have been received in the presence of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, SJVN Director (Finance) Akhileshwar Singh and SGEL CEO Ajay Singh in Mumbai. SJVN Chairman and Managing Director Geeta Kapur informed that these projects of 1,352 MW will be developed at various locations in Maharashtra -- Nashik, Solapur, Ahmednagar and Pune under Mukhya Mantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana 2.0. SJVN commissions 100 MW Raghanesda solar power project in Gujarat

State-owned SJVN on Tuesday announced the commissioning of 100 MW Raghanesda solar power project located at Banaskantha district in Gujarat. The project, bagged at a tariff of Rs 2.64 per unit, has been commissioned through its subsidiary SJVN Green Energy Ltd (SGEL), SJVN said in a regulatory filing. The "Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) has been signed with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) for 25 years. The cost of construction/development of this project is Rs 642 crore. The project will generate 252.3 million units (MUs) in the first year," it said. The project is expected to generate 5,805 MU of solar power over a period of 25 years.

Hartek Power secures substantial Rs 113 crore order from state-owned SJVN

Hartek Power on Tuesday said it has bagged an order of Rs 113 crore from state-owned SJVN in Jamui, Bihar. The project entails developing, implementing, and maintaining a 75 MW (AC) grid-connected solar PV power plant, along with a 132 kV sub-station, Hartek Power said in a statement. The scope of work also includes land development, design, engineering, equipment procurement, testing at the manufacturer's works, packing, forwarding, and transportation, the company said. SJVN gets LoI for 200 MW solar project form Gujarat Urja Vias Nigam

State-owned SJVN Ltd on Wednesday said it has received a letter of intent from Gujarat Urja Vias Nigam Ltd to set up a 200 megawatt (MW) solar power project. The tentative cost of construction and development of this project is Rs 1,100 crore, SJVN CMD Geeta Kapur said in a company statement. "SJVN has received the Letter of Intent (LOI) from Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) for 200 MW Solar Power Project in GUVNL Phase XXII," it said. The ground-mounted solar project shall be developed by SJVN subsidiary SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL) anywhere in India through an EPC contract. The Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) shall be executed with GUVNL after the adoption of the tariff by GERC (Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission), it said. The project shall be commissioned in a period of 18 months from the date of signing of PPA. This PPA shall be signed between GUVNL and SGEL for 25 years, SJVN added. SJVN bags solar project worth Rs 550 cr from Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam

State-owned SJVN Ltd on Thursday said it has bagged a 100 MW solar project under an e-reverse auction conducted by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL). SJVN bagged the 100 MW solar project at the rate of Rs 2.54/unit on a build-own and operate basis through a tariff-based competitive bidding process of GUVNL Phase XXI, a company statement said. According to the statement, SJVN has secured the full quoted capacity of a 100 MW solar power project through e-Reverse Auction conducted by GUVNL. This ground-mounted solar project will be developed by SJVN through its wholly-owned subsidiary SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL) at a tentative cost of Rs 550 crore. SJVN signs agreement to provide technical consultancy services to NHAI

State-owned power producer SJVN on Monday said it has signed an agreement with NHAI to provide technical consultancy services for highway projects. The agreement was signed in the presence of NHAI Chairman Santosh Kumar Yadav and SJVN Director (Projects) Sushil Sharma in the national capital, SJVN said in a statement. "SJVN CMD Nand Lal Sharma has informed that SJVN has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). The primary focus of this MoU is to utilise the expertise of SJVN in Technical Consultancy Services," it said.
