Accenture gets CCI's nod to acquire stakes in Vodafone's arm VSOL

The Competition Commission of India on Wednesday cleared IT and consulting firm Accenture's acquisition of a stake in Vodafone Shared Operations. Vodafone Shared Operations Ltd (VSOL) is engaged in the provision of shared services to the Vodafone Group and its network of partner telecommunications companies. VSOL is a part of Vodafone Group Plc. "CCI approves the proposed combination involving the acquisition of shares of Vodafone Shared Operations by Accenture," the regulator said in a post on X. In November last year, Vodafone Group Plc announced a strategic partnership with Accenture to commercialise Vodafone's shared operations. Further, the Dublin-based IT firm also said that it will invest 150 million euros for a minority stake in the partnership. The new unit will utilise Accenture's world-class technology and transformation services, such as its digital solutions and platforms, and deep AI expertise. Banks could boost revenues by 6% with Generative AI: Accenture report

Banks can significantly increase employee productivity and revenues by incorporating generative AI (GenAI) in their operations, according to a report by IT company Accenture. Accenture analysed publicly available employee data to estimate the impact of generative AI on banking tasks. The company modelled the financial implications for over 150 large banks globally, including Indian public and private sector banks, over a three-year period. "Banks that move quickly to scale generative AI across their organisations could increase their revenues by up to 600 bps (basis points) in three years," the research revealed. Banks which effectively adopt and scale generative AI could increase employee productivity by up to 30 per cent by streamlining numerous language-related tasks, it said. "Operating income could increase by around 20 per cent, while return on equity levels could rise by 300 bps...By helping banks operate more efficiently, the technology could lead to 1-2 per cent in cost ..

Accenture to enhance Indo Count's biz operations using digital technologies

IT consulting firm Accenture is collaborating with Indo Count Industries to enhance the home textile manufacturer's business operations using digital technologies. This will help unlock efficiencies and new growth avenues, the release said but did not indicate the size of the contract. "As part of Indo Count's digital transformation and reinvention journey, Accenture will help to standardise, optimise and re-engineer its business processes. Targeted functions include manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, and procurement," the release said. Accenture will design, develop, and deploy a digital core using SAP S/4HANA Cloud (enterprise resource planning software).
