Bharat Electronics receives orders worth Rs 3,172 crore from AVNL

Navratna Defence Public Sector Undertaking, Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has signed a contract valued at Rs 3,172 crore with Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited (AVNL) on Friday at AVNL Headquarters in Chennai. According to an official statement, BEL, which is headquartered in Bengaluru, stated the project entails the supply and installation of an advanced, indigenously designed and developed Sighting and Fire Control System (FCS) for the upgrade of BMP 2/2K tanks of the Indian Army, along with a comprehensive engineering support package. "Additionally, BEL has secured other orders valued at Rs 481 crore following the last disclosure on May 22, 2024 which comprises doppler weather radar, classroom jammers, spares and services etc. With these, BEL has received accumulated orders totaling Rs 4,803 crore in the current financial year," it stated.

BHEL Q3 results: Net loss at Rs 149 cr, income up marginally at Rs 5,599 cr

State-owned BHEL on Tuesday posted a consolidated net loss of Rs 148.77 crore for the third quarter ended December 2023, impacted by higher expenses. It had posted a net profit of Rs 42.28 crore in the October-December period of the preceding 2022-23 financial year, the company said in an exchange filing. The company's total income rose to Rs 5,599.63 crore from Rs 5,353.94 crore a year ago. Its expenses increased to Rs 5,816.87 crore from Rs 5,320.84 crore in the third quarter of the last fiscal. BHEL is one of the largest engineering and manufacturing companies, engaged in design, engineering, construction, testing, commissioning and servicing a wide range of products and services.

Govt signs contracts worth Rs 2,269 crore with Bharat Electronics Limited

The defence ministry signed a Rs 2,269-crore deal with state-run Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) on Tuesday for the procurement of 11 Shakti warfare systems, along with associated equipment. The electronic warfare system will be installed on-board the frontline warships of the Indian Navy, officials said. The Shakti systems are capable of accurately intercepting electronic emissions and implementing counter measures in a dense electromagnetic environment, they said. "The Ministry of Defence has signed a contract with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Hyderabad on February 13 for procurement of 11 Shakti Electronic Warfare Systems along with associated equipment/accessories for Indian Navy under Buy (Indian-IDDM) category at a total cost of Rs 2,269.54," the ministry said in a statement. Bharat Electronics bags IT infrastructure orders worth Rs 848 crore

State-owned Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) on Tuesday said it has bagged orders worth Rs 847.84 crore, including a major project from the finance ministry. The company bagged an order worth Rs 665.84 crore (plus taxes) from Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), Ministry of Finance, to implement and manage IT infrastructure. "The scope of the project is to supply, install and maintain IT and networking infra, field IT support and centralised management and monitoring," BEL said in a filing to BSE, adding the maintenance support will be provided for five years which includes the implementation period. "This is one of the biggest civilian projects acquired on competitive basis by BEL during the current financial year," it said. BEL has also received orders worth Rs 182 crore towards miscellaneous spares and services. With this, BEL has received cumulative orders of Rs 28,494 crore in the current fiscal.

Bharat Electronics bags orders worth Rs 2,673 crore from two firms

Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) on Friday said it has received orders worth Rs 2,673 crore from Goa Shipyard Ltd and Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd. The company in a BSE filing said this will have participation of electronics and associated industries including MSMEs, which are sub vendors of BEL. The equipment manufactured by BEL are part of Aatmanirbhar Bharat' programme, the filing added. "BEL received orders worth Rs 2,673 crore from Goa Shipyard Limited (Rs 1,701 crore) and Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers ( Rs 972 crore) for supply of 14 types of sensors for use on Next Generation Offshore Patrol Vessels (NGOPV)," it said. The company has also received additional orders worth Rs 86.15 crore since the last disclosure on December 15, 2023 and the orders pertain to miscellaneous spares and services. With this, BEL has bagged cumulative orders worth Rs 25,935.15 crore in the current financial year, the company added.

Defence ministry signs over Rs 5,300 cr deal with Bharat Electronics Ltd

The defence ministry on Friday sealed an over Rs 5,300 crore deal with state-run Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) for procurement of electronic fuzes for the Indian Army for a period of 10 years. An electronic fuze is an integral component of medium to heavy calibre artillery guns which provide sustained artillery firepower for military operations. The ministry said the fuzes are being procured for usage in artillery guns which are capable of lethal engagements in various kinds of terrain including high-altitude areas along the northern borders. It said the aim of the project is to build up ammunition stocks to minimise imports.
