Bahrain-based firm Foulath arm Bahrain Steel has collaborated with Essar Group's KSA Green Steel Project for supply of iron ore pellet to Green Steel Arabia (GSA) project.
Through this partnership, the Bahrain Steel will deliver four million tonnes of DR-grade pellets per annum (mtpa) to Essar Group, a statement said.
The Bahrain Steel is the only (Gulf Cooperation Council) GCC-owned pellet producer and leading supplier of high-quality DR grade pellets to all integrated steel producers in the region, it stated.
"Foulath Subsidiary, Bahrain Steel, a leading producer, and global supplier of high-grade iron-ore pellets, has partnered with multinational conglomerate Essar Group in the supply of iron ore pellets to the Green Steel Arabia (GSA) project.
The Letter of Intent (LOI) signing ceremony was held on Wednesday, 16th August 2023, in Jubail, Saudi Arabia.

Tata Steel has inked an agreement with American carmaker Ford to supply "zeremis green steel" from its Netherlands-based IJmuiden plant after the unit shifts to hydrogen-based steel making.
In Europe, Tata Steel is working to switch to low-carbon technologies to manufacture steel in the UK and the Netherlands.
The company's both businesses Tata Steel UK and Tata Steel Nederland have been developing detailed plans for transition to low CO2 technologies in line with the company's goal to produce CO2-neutral steel by 2050 in Europe, company's CEO & MD T V Narendran and Executive Director and CFO Koushik Chatterjee earlier said.
"Tata Steel Nederland has signed a memorandum of understanding with Ford in Europe to supply the carmaker with Zeremis green steel once the IJmuiden steelworks switches to green hydrogen-based steelmaking," a statement said.
The agreement makes Ford the first customer committed to offtake the green steel that Tata Steel plans to produce via the hydrogen route,

A day after the Centre asserted that the census would begin soon after the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday said the enumeration exercise should commence "immediately".
The JD(U) supreme leader also said the census should have been completed in 2021, claiming that the "decadal census has been delayed in the country for the first time".

The Centre on Thursday unveiled a new set of national awards in science, technology and innovation, called the 'Rashtriya Vigyan Puraskar', and scrapped nearly 300 awards by various science departments.
An official statement said the Rashtriya Vigyan Puraskar will be one of the highest recognitions in science, technology and innovation, to be given across four categories -- Vigyan Ratna, Vigyan Shri, Vigyan Yuva-Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar and Vigyan Team.
Scientists will be selected across 13 domains by a committee headed by principal scientific advisor to the government.
"People of Indian Origin staying abroad with exceptional contributions benefiting the Indian communities or society shall also be eligible for the awards," it said.
The Vigyan Ratna award will recognise lifetime achievements and contributions in any field of science and technology while the Vigyan Shri will acknowledge distinguished contributions.
All the awards will carry a citation and a medal.
