Honda Motorcycle recalls 300-350 cc bikes to replace faulty parts

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India on Monday said it is recalling certain units of its bike models like CB350 and H'ness CB350 due to issues with wheel speed sensor and camshaft. The company is recalling CB300F, CB300R, CB350, H'ness CB350 and CB350RS, manufactured between October 2020 and April 2024, for issues with wheel speed sensor, the two wheeler major said in a statement. "It has been observed that due to an improper molding procedure being followed, water may seep into the wheel speed sensor. This may lead to a speed sensor malfunction causing error in the speedometer, traction control or ABS intervention," it said. In the worst case scenario, it may result in ineffective braking, it added. Units manufactured from October 2020 to April 2024 are affected under this potential issue, the company said. HMSI to enter EV space in FY25; eyes 33% sales from segment by 2030

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India is looking to enter the electric vehicle segment this fiscal and eyes one-third of its overall sales to accrue from the segment by 2030. Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of 64th SIAM annual session here, HMSI Director (Sales and Marketing) Yogesh Mathur said the company will be entering the EV segment this fiscal. He noted that the contribution of electric two-wheelers in overall two-wheeler sales was continuing to grow. "And what we understand is that by 2030 there will be a major shift towards EVs and we have announced that by 2030 in our lineup also..one-third at least will be coming only from EV models," Mathur said. The EV model is being developed jointly by HMSI and Honda teams, he added. On capacity utilisation at its plants, Mathur said the company's plants were currently running at full capacity. HMSI recalls GL1800 Gold Wing, CBR1000RR units to fix faulty fuel pumps

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) on Friday said it is recalling certain units of its superbikes GL1800 Gold Wing and CBR1000RR to inspect and replace faulty fuel pumps. Honda GL1800 Gold Wing manufactured between December 2017 and December 2023 and CBR1000RR manufactured between September 2017 and April 2020 are affected, the two-wheeler major said in a statement. HMSI, however, did not provide an exact number of the units being recalled. "The fuel pump impellers may have been improperly molded, which can cause them to deform and result in fuel pump failure. If the fuel pump module becomes inoperative, the engine may not start or can stall without indication while riding," the company stated. The inspection and replacement of fuel pumps will be carried out at BigWing Topline dealerships across India, it added.

Honda Motorcycle reports 3% increase in sales in August at 477,590 units

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) on Friday said its sales increased by 3 per cent to 4,77,590 units in August. The company dispatched 4,62,529 units to dealers in August 2022. HMSI rolls out industry's first warranty programme for scooter, motorcycle

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) on Wednesday said it has unveiled an extended warranty initiative for all scooter and motorcycle models up to the 250 cc segment. The initiative enables customers to acquire an extended warranty within a flexible window of 91 days to ninth year from the date of vehicle purchase, the two-wheeler major said in a statement. The programme not only grants customers a comprehensive 10-year warranty coverage but also offers renewal options that remain transferable even in the event of a change in ownership, it added. "Customer satisfaction has always been crucial in the vehicle purchasing process, with after-sales service playing a vital role. Honda Motorcycle and Scooter sales fall 7% YoY to 3,29,393 units in May

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India on Friday reported 6.6 per cent decline in total sales at 3,29,393 units in May 2023 as compared to the same month last year. The company had sold 3,52,893 units in May 2022, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) said in a statement. Domestic sales last month stood at 3,11,144 units, down 3 per cent from 3,20,857 units in the year-ago period, it added. Exports were down at 18,249 units from 32,036 units in the same month last year, the company said.

Japanese auto major Honda Motor Co Ltd on Wednesday announced top management changes in its Indian two-wheeler arm with the appointment of Tsutsumu Otani as the President, CEO & Managing Director of Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India. Otani, also a Vice President at Honda Motor Co., Japan, will succeed Atsushi Ogata, who returns to Shanghai, China as the Executive General Manager at Shanghai Branch, Honda Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd with effect from April 1, 2023, the company said in a statement. Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India records 34.5% sales decline in March

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India on Tuesday reported a 34.5 per cent decline in total sales at 2,11,978 units in March 2023 as compared to 3,23,434 units in the same month last year. Domestic sales were at 1,97,512 units last month as against 3,09,550 units in March 2022, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) said in a statement. Exports were higher at 14,466 units as compared to 13,884 units in the year-ago month, it added. HMSI said it closed 2022-23 with total sales of 43,50,943 units, a growth of 14 per cent over 2021-22.
