Housing sales across the top eight cities declined 6 per cent in the April-June period compared with the preceding quarter as builders and investors were cautious due to Lok Sabha polls, according to PropTiger. Property brokerage platform PropTiger, which is part of REA India that owns Housing.com, on Thursday released its quarterly data on housing demand and supply. As per the data, housing sales fell 6 per cent to 1,13,768 units during the April-June period from 120,642 units in the preceding January-March quarter. However, the housing sales rose 42 per cent in April-June from 80,245 units in the year-ago period. "Demand for homes moderated during the April-June period on account of the general elections even though consumer sentiment continues to remain extremely positive about real estate investments on the back of strong fundamentals," said Vikas Wadhawan, Group CFO, REA India, and Business Head, PropTiger.com. Housing sales up 11% in FY24 in top 30 Tier-II cities: PropEquity

Rise in housing demand is not restricted to major cities as sales of residential properties rose 11 per cent last fiscal across 30 Tier II towns to nearly 2.08 lakh units, according to PropEquity. Real estate data analytic firm PropEquity on Friday released a report on Tier II cities' housing market. The data showed that housing sales increased 11 per cent to 2,07,896 units in 2023-24 as against 1,86,951 units in the preceding financial year. Top 10 Tier II cities -- Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Nashik, Gandhi Nagar, Jaipur, Nagpur, Bhubaneshwar, Visakhapatnam and Mohali-- contributed 80 per cent to the total sales in 30 small towns. These 10 cities together clocked sales of 1,68,998 residential units in 2023-24, up 11 per cent from 1,51,706 homes in 2022-23. The other 20 Tier II cities are Bhopal, Lucknow, Goa, Coimbatore, Raipur, Vijayawada, Indore, Kochi, Trivandrum, Mangalore, Guntur, Bhiwadi, Dehradun, Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Agra, Mysore, Sonepat, Panipat and Amritsar. Mahindra Lifespace aims for Rs 8-10K cr sales in housing, industrial spaces

Realty firm Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd is targeting a sharp increase in its annual sales of housing properties and industrial space to Rs 8,000-10,000 crore by 2027-28 fiscal on rising demand. Mumbai-based Mahindra Lifespace sold residential properties and industrial space worth Rs 2,698 crore in the last fiscal as against Rs 2,268 crore in the 2022-23 financial year. According to the latest presentation in an investor meet, Mahindra Lifespace has mentioned about the target to achieve Rs 8,000-10,000 crore worth of sales in the 2027-28 fiscal in its two verticals -- residential and industrial park. Mahindra Lifespace has been actively buying land and also partnering with landlords for the development of residential properties. Enthused by record sales bookings of Rs 22,500 crore last fiscal on strong housing demand, Godrej Properties Ltd Executive Chairman Pirojsha Godrej said the company would like to see some growth even on a high base and aim to achieve Rs 25,000 crore pre-sales numbers in 2024-25. Keystone Realtors sales up 41% to Rs 2,266 cr on strong housing demand

Keystone Realtors Ltd, which sells properties under 'Rustomjee brand', on Monday reported a 41 per cent growth in sales bookings to Rs 2,266 crore driven by strong housing demand. Its sales bookings stood at Rs 1,604 crore in the 2022-23 fiscal year. The Mumbai-based company sold 1.21 million square feet area last fiscal, up 17 per cent from 1.04 million square feet in the preceding year, according to a regulatory filing. During the fourth quarter of 2023-24, the sales bookings surged by 78 per cent to Rs 843 crore from Rs 473 crore in the year-ago period. It sold 0.38 million square feet area in the January-March quarter, as against 0.28 million square feet in the corresponding period of the last year. Macrotech Q4 sales bookings up 40% at Rs 4,230 cr on strong housing demand

Realty firm Macrotech Developers Ltd on Friday reported a 40 per cent annual growth in its sales bookings to Rs 4,230 crore in the fourth quarter of last fiscal driven by strong housing demand. Its sales bookings stood at Rs 3,030 crore in the year-ago period. Macrotech Developers, which sells its properties under the Lodha brand, registered a 20 per cent growth in its sales bookings to a record Rs 14,520 crore last fiscal from Rs 12,060 crore in the 2022-23 financial year, according to a regulatory filing. "We had Q4, FY24 pre-sales of Rs 4,230 crore - our best quarterly performance ever, up 40 per cent on YoY (year-on-year) basis," Macrotech Developers said. Fresh housing supply drops 15% in Jan-Mar across top cities: Report

New supply of residential properties fell 15 per cent during January-March across eight major cities at 69,143 units despite high demand, according to Cushman & Wakefield. Real estate consultant Cushman & Wakefield on Friday released the data for launches of residential properties in the primary (first sale) of eight major cities. New supply has increased in Bengaluru and Mumbai but declined in Delhi-NCR, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Kolkata, and Ahmedabad. Out of the total launches of residential properties in this quarter, the high-end and luxury segment had a 34 per cent share. Listed, large and regionally reputed developers accounted for over 38 per cent of overall launches in the current quarter. Housing sales in Jan-Mar rise 14%, average prices up 10-32%: Anarock

Housing sales have risen 14 per cent, while average prices are up 10-32 per cent across seven major cities during the January-March period of this year, as demand continues to be strong, according to Anarock. The sales of residential properties increased in Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), Pune, Bengaluru and Hyderabad, but declined in Delhi-NCR, Chennai and Kolkata. On Wednesday, real estate consultant Anarock released its data for the top seven primary (first sale) residential markets in the country. As per the data, housing sales rose 14 per cent to 1,30,170 units during January-March quarter this year across top seven cities, from 1,13,775 units in the year-ago period. 7 major cities see annual 8% rise in completion of housing units: Anarock

India's seven major cities witnessed an annual 8 per cent rise in the completion of housing units last year at 4.35 lakh units as developers' cash flows improved on better sales, according to Anarock. Real estate consultant Anarock data showed that 4,35,045 units were completed during last year, as against 4.02 lakh units in the previous year. The data pertains to the primary (first sale) residential market. In Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), 1,43,500 housing units were completed last year, up 13 per cent from 1,26,720 units in the previous year. The completion of housing units in Delhi-NCR rose 32 per cent to 1,14,280 units, as against 86,300 units in 2022.
