HMPL board approves Rs 486 cr fundraising plan through issuance of warrants

Infrastructure company Hazoor Multi Projects Ltd (HMPL) on Saturday said its board has approved a proposal to raise Rs 486 crore through the issuance of warrants. The plan was approved by the board of the company at a meeting on Friday, HMPL said in a regulatory filing. The board has approved fundraising of Rs 4,860 million through issuing and allotting up to 1.62 crore fully convertible warrants to the persons belonging to the 'non-promoter' and 'public' category on a preferential basis at an issue price of Rs 300 per warrant, the company said. The proposal is subject to the approval of shareholders and other regulatory authorities, HMPL added. "Upon issue of Warrants in accordance herewith, an amount equivalent to 25 per cent of the total issue size shall be called upfront from the proposed allottees," it noted. Centre gives green signal to road project in Andhra Pradesh tiger corridor

The National Board for Wildlife (NBWL) has recommended the use of more than 40 hectares of forest land from the tiger corridor connecting the Nagarjunasagar Srisailam Tiger Reserve (NSTR) and the Sri Venkateswara National Park in Andhra Pradesh for the development of expressways, economic corridors and inter-corridors under the second phase of Bharatmala Pariyojana, according to the minutes of a meeting held last month. Spread over 3,296.31 square kilometres, the NSTR is the country's largest tiger reserve. It is contiguous with Telangana's Amrabad tiger reserve and accounts for the largest tiger population (around 72) in the Eastern Ghat landscape. According to the minutes of the meeting, the length of the road passing through the tiger corridor under the project is about five kilometres. Govt sanctions Rs 1,170 crore for road projects in Ladakh: Gadkari

Union minister Nitin Gadkari said the government has sanctioned Rs 1,170.16 crore for 29 roads projects in Ladakh. In a post on social media platform X, Gadkari said Rs 1,170.16 crore has been sanctioned for 29 roads projects, encompassing state highway and other major roads in the Union Territory. Additionally, Rs 181.71 crore has been allocated for 8 bridges under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) scheme for the fiscal year 2023 24, the road transport and highways minister said. He said Ladakh, the largest Union Territory in terms of area and the second least populous in the country, will witness improved connectivity to its remote villages through the approved initiatives. The enhancement in road connectivity is expected to stimulate economic activities, particularly in agriculture and tourism, contributing to the overall infrastructural development of Ladakh, he added.

Union cabinet approves road, construction projects in Bihar, Tripura

The Union Cabinet on Wednesday gave its approval for widening of the 135-km stretch of Khowai-Harina road in Tripura, according to an official statement. The project involves investment of Rs 2,486.78 crore which includes a loan component of Rs 1,511.70 crore (JPY 23,129 million), the statement said. The loan assistance will be from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) under Official Development Assistance (ODA) scheme, it added. The project is envisaged to facilitate better road connectivity between various parts of Tripura and to provide alternative access to Assam and Meghalaya from Tripura apart from existing NH-8. "The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has given its approval for improvement and widening to two lane with paved shoulder of road from km 101.300 (Khowai) to km 236.213 (Harina) of NH-208, covering a total length of 134.913 kms in Tripura," the statement said. Road construction projects worth Rs 65,000 cr underway in Delhi: Gadkari

Work on projects worth Rs 65,000 crore is underway in Delhi and its nearby areas for the construction of roads, highways and expressways, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari said on Thursday. Work on an expressway connecting Delhi's Akshardham temple to Dehradun has started. Once it is completed, it will only take two hours to reach Dehradun from Delhi and one-and-a-half hours to reach Haridwar, the minister said in the Lok Sabha. "Rs 65,000-crore works are going on in Delhi and its adjoining areas. We have already constructed an expressway to Meerut. Works are also going on to connect Muzaffarnagar," he said. Around 85 per cent of road projects are likely to be completed by the end of this fiscal, as the steps taken by the government to ensure faster clearances like monitoring and quicker resolution of issues have started showing results, Road Transport and Highways secretary Anurag Jain said on Wednesday. Jain said, the Road ministry is getting environment and forest clearance quickly and monitoring mechanisms of delayed projects have been improved. "We took up completion of projects on time as a challenge, and in cases where the project is already delayed, a revised schedule was taken as the target. Delhi's Sultanpuri underpass project complete, to open from Sep 4

The Sultanpuri underpass project in Delhi, work on which had begun in 2010, has been completed and it will be opened for the public on September 4, officials said on Saturday. The completion work has been pending for a long time, Mayor Shelly Oberoi's office said in a statement. Soon after the AAP-led government took charge in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, the work was expedited and pending fund was arranged too, she was quoted as saying in the statement The underpass has now been completed and it will be thrown open to the public on September 4. It will help ease traffic movement in the area, the statement said. Mayor Oberoi will be present during the inauguration of the underpass.

NITI Aayog seeks consultant to evaluate road projects, functioning of NHAI

With the debt of National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) surpassing Rs 3 lakh crore and its dependance on government's budgetary support increasing, the NITI Aayog has decided to go in for an institutional evaluation of the highway construction body. The government think tank's Development Monitoring and Evaluation Office (DMEO) has floated a tender for selection of a technical consultant for conducting an evaluation study of road projects and the functioning of NHAI. "In the context of its (NHAI's) increasing debt servicing burden, contingent liabilities, dependence on government budgetary support, and ambitious highway and infrastructure development plan, there is a need to better understand the performance of NHAI and evaluate its existing practices and finances in order to provide inputs in improving its functioning," the DMEO said in it's report. NHAI's debt has seen an increase from Rs 23,797 crore in March 2014 to Rs 3.48 lakh crore in March 2022. NHAI's spending in FY22
