The Israeli embassy said on Wednesday that it collaborated with Indian security forces in conducting a joint security drill with an objective to counter potential future security threats. The drill was conducted in Delhi last week. Security was beefed up at Raj Bhavan here following a bomb threat received by the officials via email, but it turned out to be a hoax, police said. An email claiming that a bomb was planted at the Governor's House was received by officials of Raj Bhavan and the Bihar Police on Tuesday. "We didn't find anything suspicious despite a comprehensive security check at Raj Bhavan. It turned out to be a hoax," Rajeev Mishra, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), told PTI on Wednesday. The SSP said the police are trying to locate the source of the mail. "We have already registered a case in this regard and engaged our cyber unit to probe the matter further," he said. Security has been beefed up at the Raj Bhavan and other places in the city, Mishra added. A number of establishments like government buildings, offices and schools in various cities of the country have received similar threat emails over the past few days.

At least 6,500 polling personnel, over 3,000 policemen and 12 companies of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) will be deployed for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls in Mizoram, a senior election official said here on Monday. At least one person was killed and 14 others injured in a bomb blast in Pakistan's restive province of Balochistan, officials said on Saturday. The blast happened in Balochistan's Harnai district after an improvised explosive device exploded when a team from Mari Petroleum Company was conducting a gas exploration survey in the area. Harnai deputy commissioner Javed Domki confirmed the incident and said one person was killed and 14 others were injured. Nobody immediately claimed responsibility for the attack but ethnic Baloch extremists often target government installations. They blamed the federal government for exploiting the mineral wealth of the province. The latest attack comes on the back of a series of such attacks in the past weeks. Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti condemned the attack and ordered authorities to provide all necessary medical support to the injured.

Sri Lanka was put on high alert on Friday and security beefed up in major cities across the country, with special surveillance around the Churches having Good Friday services, according to a senior police official Police spokesman Nihal Thalduwa said over that 6,000 police personnel, over 3,000 military soldiers and over 400 elite special task force members had been deployed across the country on the occasion on Good Friday. "We have identified 2,268 churches having Good Friday services to provide special security, Thalduwa said. Police have also set up a special hotline to report any suspicious movements near the churches. Around 7,500 central forces personnel have been deployed in Odisha in view of the Lok Sabha polls and the assembly elections, which are held simultaneously in the state, an official said on Monday. A total of 75 companies of CAPF have been deployed in Odisha for the smooth conduction of the elections, said CRPF IG Archana Shivhare, who has been appointed as the state coordinator of the forces by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs. She said that 35 companies each of the CRPF and BSF along with five companies of CISF have been deployed in two phases since March 1. One company consists of nearly 100 personnel.
