Reliance Retail said it is revamping Trends fashion stores across the county by adding contemporary and tech-enabled features ranging from self-checkout counters to electronic shelf labels to attract customers of younger generations.
Reliance Retail is revamping around 150 Trends stores pan-India with a new brand identity. The stores will have a new look right from the faade to fixtures, lighting, ceiling and flooring, becoming more aspirational for shoppers, the retailer said.
Trends, an affordable fashion & lifestyle retailer which operates more than 2,300 stores in over 1,100 towns and cities across India, has opened its first such store with a new brand identity in Surat with several more in the pipeline to be opened shortly.
Now all new Trends stores to be opened by Reliance Retail in the future will be based on the new format, which may also have a dedicated space for local artesian to showcase the city's identity.

The BJP's Central Election Committee members, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, met here on Sunday to finalise its candidates for the coming assembly polls as the party looks to conclude much of deliberations on the contestants before the election process formally begins.

TVS Emerald, a subsidiary of TVS Holdings Ltd, has registered a sale value of Rs 169 crore on the day of launch of its first plotted development project in Karnataka.
'The Estate' in Bagalur near Sarjapur, is a 33-acre project near Bengaluru, marking the Chennai-based company's first plotted development in the neighbouring state.
Of the 461 plots launched, as many as 442 plots were sold. The plots range from 500 sq ft to over 5,000 sq ft in size and priced from Rs 17.49 lakh, a company statement here said on Wednesday.
Besides this project, TVS Emerald said it has planned for more in Bengaluru, including an apartment community in Rachenahalli and a luxury project on the Mission road.
"The brand has a total of two million sq ft of area under development in Bengaluru," the statement said.

Launched during the festive season in Kolkata, this new flight will cater to the need for a convenient direct connection between the two cities, the airline said in a statement on Wednesday.
