Psychological safety at workplace is a crucial need for corporate India as it leads to higher employee retention and engagement, says a report.
Psychological safety refers to employees believing that they can take risks without being shamed by other members.
According to leading job site Indeed's report on Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (DI&B) at Indian Workplaces, 45 per cent of all employers surveyed believe that psychological safety is a strong performance indicator and 47 per cent believe it is a crucial need.
This study was carried out by Valuevox on behalf of Indeed across 15 sectors and 16 cities, involving 1,200 employers and 1,500 employees of small, medium, and large businesses.

The first attempt to survey the extent of violence and harassment at work around the globe has found that workplace abuse is widespread, and particularly pronounced among young people, migrants, and wage earners, especially women.
More than 22% of the nearly 75,000 workers in 121 countries surveyed last year reported having experienced at least one type of violence or harassment, according to the report released Monday by the UN International Labour Organization, the Lloyds Register Foundation and Gallup.
Violence and harassment in the world of work is a pervasive and harmful phenomenon, with profound and costly effects ranging from severe physical and mental health consequences to lost earnings and destroyed career paths to economic losses for workplaces and societies, the three organizations said in the 56-page report.

In a move to fuel growth through self-employment, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has launched a scheme to help youths set up their own ventures.
At a function here, Sarma rolled out the Chief Minister's Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan 2023. He also launched a registration portal for the scheme.
Under the programme, financial aid will be given to two lakh youths for creating a robust entrepreneurial ecosystem, he added.

International credit agency Moody's Investors Service has made sweeping assertions against Aadhaar without citing any evidence, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) said on Monday.
The UIDAI issued a strong rebuttal to Moody's Investors Service which claimed that the Aadhaar system often results in service denials and the reliability of biometric technologies, especially for manual labourers, in hot and humid climates is questionable.
"A certain investor service has, without citing any evidence or basis, made sweeping assertions against Aadhaar, the most trusted digital ID in the world. Over the last decade, over a billion Indians have expressed their trust in Aadhaar by using it to authenticate themselves over 100 billion times," the UIDAI said in a statement.
The unique id Aadhaar's custodian said that the report in question does not cite either primary or secondary data or research in support of the opinions presented in it.
