YSRCP chief Jagan not prevented from visiting Tirumala temple: AP CM Naidu

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday said YSRCP supremo YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was claiming as if he was prevented by authorities from visiting the Tirumala temple and asked if he was served any notice to not go to the shrine. Reacting to Jagan's decision to postpone his trip to the Tirupati Lord Venkateshwara temple, Naidu said every religious place has its traditions and customs and whoever wishes to visit a place of worship should respect the norms followed there. The CM said Jagan's stand of him having earlier visited the Tirumala shrine earlier by not 'signing the declaration' form affirming his faith in the presiding deity does not entitle him to repeat it. I don't know what reason he (Jagan) had to avoid his Tirumala tour, but he was claiming as if he was prevented and issued notices. I am asking you straight. Have you been given any notices? Did anybody ask you not to go there?, the CM asked. He further said there were reports that YSRCP was spreading

Laddu row: Naidu forms SIT, alleges ghee supply norms changed under Jagan

Dubbing the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister as a "habitual liar", YSR Congress chief YS Jagana Mohan Reddy on Sunday sought Prime Minister Narendra Modi's intervention to reprimand Chandrababu Naidu over the Tirupati laddu adulteration issue. In a letter addressed to PM Modi, Jagan alleged that CM Chandrababu Naidu has stooped so low as to hurt the beliefs of crores of people purely for political objectives. Detailing the process undertaken at Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) the custodian of the super-rich shrine of Sri Venkateswara Swamy for accepting ghee, in an eight page letter, Jagan alleged that Naidu's actions lowered not only the stature of CM but also that of everyone in public life, the sanctity of TTD and its practices. Sir, the entire country looks to you at this crucial juncture. It is very imperative that Mr Naidu be reprimanded in the severest way for his shameless act of spreading lies and the truth be brought to light. Sir, this would help allay the suspicions th

Condition for supplying ghee to TTD changed during YSRCP govt: CM Naidu

Hitting out at the previous YSRCP government, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday alleged that several procedures to procure ghee by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams ( TTD) were altered during the earlier regime. He also alleged that appointments to the TTD board became like "gambling" during the previous government and there were instances of appointing people who had no faith and giving preferences to non-Hindus on the board. Speaking to reporters here, the CM said people's sentiments were hurt after the revelation with regard to laddu. Naidu said, as per the earlier conditions, the ghee supplier should have at least three years of experience. However, after Jagan Mohan Reddy came to power it was reduced to one year. The CM also said that the required turnover of the supplier was also reduced to Rs 150 crore from the earlier Rs 250 crore. Naidu asked how one can supply pure ghee at Rs 319 when even palm oil is costlier than that. He said AR Dairy Foods

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has alleged that the previous YSRCP government had desecrated Tirumala, the abode of world-renowned Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple, but noted the sanitisation process has already begun. The CM further alleged that the Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy-led government had served substandard food to the Tirumala devotees to not only undermine its holiness but also hurt the devotees' sentiments. After finding the evidence that substandard ingredients were used to make prasadam (consecrated food), we will take stringent action against the people responsible for it, said Naidu in a press release. He made these comments on the sidelines of inaugurating an Anna Canteen at the secretariat on Thursday. Anna Canteens offer subsidised meals for poor people. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy files plea in HC over restoration of security cover

Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday filed a writ petition in the High Court seeking restoration of the security cover to him to the level it existed till June 3. In his petition, the former CM and YSRCP chief said his security cover has been reduced to 59 personnel without any intimation from the TDP-led government in the state. Considering the sensitive nature of his position and the "ongoing political environment" in the state, Reddy highlighted that the reduction in security cover raises "significant concerns about his safety", a YSRCP press release quoting him said. According to Reddy, reduction of security within a month after the announcement of the election results is in "violation of all principles of natural justice." Further, he said though the highest protection category of Z+ security was not downgraded on paper, the number of security personnel had been drastically cut and added that only two personnel were guarding him at any point of .

Jagan writes to PM Modi over alleged atrocities against YSRCP cadres

Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and opposition YSRCP leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, complaining about the alleged atrocities against his party cadres by the ruling TDP and its allies. In just one month, Reddy alleged that 31 people were murdered, 35 people committed suicide, 560 private and 490 government properties were destroyed and 2,700 people were forced to flee their villages. "Additionally, there have been over 1,050 incidents of violence and attacks. This reflects the state of affairs in our state under the present dispensation, which is not at all inclined to maintain law and order," Reddy said in the letter, shared in the intervening night of Thursday and Friday. According to the former CM, these incidents were part of an evil design to 'suppress' the YSRCP 'with the sole aim of eliminating anyone associated with the party from the political scene.' The letter comes in the wake of the murder of a YSRCP activist, Sheikh Rashid, in .

Jagan requests Andhra Assembly Speaker to recognise him as leader of Oppn

YSRCP chief and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday requested Assembly Speaker C Ayyannapatrudu to recognise him as the leader of opposition and his party as the principal opposition party. Reddy made this plea in a letter to the speaker. Law mandates that whichever party has the highest number of seats in the opposition should be recognised as the principal opposition, Reddy said in the letter shared by YSRCP to PTI. He claimed that no law states that 10 per cent seats are required to confer the principal opposition party status, and added that such a practice has not been followed in Parliament or the state's assembly. According to Reddy, making him take oath as a member of the assembly after the swearing-in of ministers recently was against tradition. He alleged that the ruling NDA alliance of TDP, BJP and Janasena have already decided not to confer him the status of leader of the opposition. The ruling alliance and the speaker are already ...

Ruling TDP clarifies on YSRCP's under construction party office demolition

YSRCP's under construction central party office at Tadepalli was demolished based on a complaint lodged by a TDP leader that it was being allegedly built illegally on Irrigation Department land, said the party on Saturday. The complaint was lodged with the commissioners of the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) and Mangalagiri Tadepalli Municipal Corporation (MTMC) that the opposition party office was being built illegally on two acres of Irrigation Department land, a TDP release said. "Following this, the demolition of these illegal constructions of the YSRCP leaders has been launched under the supervision of the MTMC officials," it said. According to the ruling party, former chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had allotted that parcel of land in survey number 202/A1 in Tadepalli, misusing his power. "Jagan Mohan Reddy has prepared a plan to occupy the neighbouring 15 acres by building the party office in these two acres. It is now clarified that the Irrigation Department

YSRCP's under construction office demolished despite court orders: Jagan

YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Saturday said the Chandrababu Naidu-led NDA state government has demolished the under construction central office of the opposition party at Tadepalli in Guntur district. Reddy alleged that the demolition was carried out disregarding high court orders. "Chandrababu took vendetta politics to the next level. Like a dictator, he got YSRCP's central office demolished with excavators and bulldozers, which was almost complete," said Reddy in a post on 'X'. According to a YSRCP statement, the demolition commenced around 5.30 am on Saturday. "The demolition proceeded even though the YSRCP had approached the High Court the previous day (Friday), challenging the preliminary actions of the CRDA (Capital Region Development Authority)," said the statement. YSRCP noted that the court had ordered a halt to any demolition activity, which was conveyed to the CRDA commissioner by a party lawyer, but the authority still went ahead and demolished the ...
