	Minister of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship (IRCC), Sean Fraser on Wednesday announced the launch of the first-ever category-based selection for Canada&#39;s flagship economic immigration management system, Express Entry.</div>

	The category-based selection will allow the Canadian government to issue invitations to apply to prospective permanent residents with particular skills, training, or language ability.&nbsp;&nbsp;</div>

<div>
	The report also added further details related to the timing of invitations for individual categories and how to apply for the new process will be shared by the authorities in the coming weeks.</div>

	<strong>IRCC in a statement said, &quot;With employers eagerly seeking to fill countless vacant positions across the country, immigration emerges as a vital piece to solving this puzzle. Recognizing this reality, the Government of Canada is building an immigration system that acts as a catalyst for growth, empowering businesses, helping address their labour needs, and strengthening French communities.&quot;</strong></div>

	The category-based selection process will help in making Express Entry more responsive to Canada&#39;s changing economic and labour market needs, while it builds on the high human capital approach that has been a hallmark of Canada&rsquo;s successful economic immigration system,</div>

	According to IRCC&#39;s Twitter, this year&#39;s category-based selection invitations will focus on candidates who have-</div>
<div>
	- strong language proficiency in French or</div>
<div>
	<strong>- work experience in any of the following fields:&nbsp;</strong></div>

	a. healthcare</div>
<div>
	b. science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) professions</div>
<div>
	<strong>c. trades, such as carpenters, plumbers, and contractors</strong></div>
<div>
	d. transport</div>
<div>
	e. agriculture and agri-food<br />

UK&amp;#39;s political crisis

In September, 22-year-old Iranian girl Mahsa Amini died after being detained for allegedly violating Iran&amp;#39;s laws requiring women to wear a headscarf. Authorities said she died of illness, but her family claimed she fell into a coma after being mistreated by the police. Sources said the police beat Amini with a baton and banged her head against a vehicle. At her funeral on September 17 in Saqez, women protested by ripping off their hijabs. Protests sparked by her demise have since roped in ethnic minorities and even school children. Thousands of women since then have been showing solidarity by cutting their hair and burning their hijabs in public.
						
						Now, the unrest has spread beyond a women&amp;#39;s right to a movement that is calling for an end to theocratic rule. The protests are now the most broadly supported movement in Iran in over four decades.
